May specialize in measurements to determine airspace boundaries; may conduct marine or hydrographic surveys to measure bodies of water and determine shorelines and water flow and depth.

Job Description

Survey Crew Cheif! Position Overview Seeking a Crew Chief I to lead and support field surveying operations on construction, boundary, and topographic projects. This role is responsible for collecting accurate field data, operating survey equipment, coordinating with office staff, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Perform construction staking, topographic surveys, as-builts, utility mapping, and control establishment. Operate GPS, robotic instruments, total stations, and data collectors. Read and interpret construction plans and project specifications. Maintain accurate field notes and transfer data to office staff for processing. Coordinate staking requests and communicate with clients and project teams. Complete daily time tracking, equipment inspections, and safety documentation. Ensure compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements. Maintain survey vehicles and equipment in good working condition. Qualifications 2+ years of surveying experience, including construction staking and field data collection. Proficiency with modern survey equipment and data collection software. Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent required; surveying certifications are a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Capable of navigating active construction sites and uneven terrain. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Pay:
$33-$37/hour
Schedule:
Full-Time (40 hours/week) with overtime opportunities
Hours:
Typically Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $37.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
