YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Transportation Engineer, your responsibilities will encompass: Participate in the planning, analysis, and design of transportation infrastructure projects. Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to develop transportation engineering solutions and project deliverables. Prepare roadway alignments, 3D models, intersection layouts, drainage systems, utility designs, and other transportation-related facilities using industry-standard engineering software. Perform engineering calculations and develop technical memoranda, reports, and supporting documentation. Prepare engineering plans, specifications, quantity estimates, and construction cost estimates. established quality management procedures, design standards, and safety requirements throughout project development. Provide engineering services during construction, including responding to contractor inquiries and reviewing project documentation. Conduct site visits and field investigations during project planning, design, and construction phases. Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, utility owners, and project stakeholders as directed. Contribute to proposal preparation, project documentation, and other departmental initiatives as assigned. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and abilities: A bachelor's degree in civil engineering 5+ years of experience in transportation facility and highway design Experience working with Maryland Department of Transportation and Maryland city/county government transportation projects Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, Bentley OpenRoads, Autodesk Civil 3D, and AutoTURN Must possess an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification Excellent oral and written communication Knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and MDOT design codes and standards If you meet these criteria and are ready to embark on an exciting opportunity, we encourage you to apply and be part of our team!
