Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Quality Improvement Engineer to drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance manufacturing quality, increase production efficiency, and improve process performance. This role partners with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, investigate quality issues, implement corrective actions, and support quality management systems in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Lead continuous improvement projects focused on increasing yield, reducing scrap, and improving process capability. Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Conduct root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, PDCA, and Fishbone. Develop, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Support quality engineering activities by troubleshooting production issues and reviewing nonconforming materials. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements. Assist with incoming material inspections and supplier quality concerns. Support customer quality investigations and product returns. Participate in internal and external quality audits and maintain compliance with quality management systems. Update procedures, work instructions, and training documentation as needed. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve manufacturing processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Continuous Improvement. Strong understanding of quality management systems and manufacturing processes. Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and statistical process improvement. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with electronics or precision manufacturing is a plus. Quality certifications (such as CQE) are preferred. Bilingual Spanish is a plus. Must be authorized to work on projects that require compliance with applicable U.S. government regulations. Work Environment Manufacturing and office environment. Regular computer use with occasional time spent on the production floor. Frequent sitting with occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
