Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shuttle Bus Driver for a senior living community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to navigate various routes efficiently. As a Shuttle Bus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting residents and visitors safely and comfortably while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of seniors by providing reliable transportation services that support their independence and well-being. Duties Safely operate shuttle buses and other commercial vehicles to transport residents, staff, and visitors within designated routes. Ensure compliance with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during each trip. Assist residents with boarding and disembarking, offering respectful support especially to those with mobility challenges or special needs. Maintain cleanliness and basic mechanical checks of the vehicle to ensure optimal operation. Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes or schedules as needed. Report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly to ensure safety standards are upheld. Follow all safety protocols related to paratransit, school bus driving, and senior care transportation services. Foster a welcoming environment by demonstrating excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards all passengers. Skills Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving roles, including paratransit or school bus operations. Strong knowledge of driving regulations, vehicle maintenance basics, and safety procedures. Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities. Ability to work with children, seniors, and individuals with special needs with patience and compassion. Mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance awareness. Customer service orientation with the ability to handle behavior management effectively when needed. Writing skills for documentation or incident reporting; teaching or childcare experience is advantageous for engaging with residents. Multilingual capabilities can enhance service delivery in diverse populations.
