Job Description
Job Duties and Experience Desired:
5+ years of experience in metallurgy Specifically steel heat treat processes Induction hardening on strip steel Batch heat treat using furnaces for crankshafts Knowledge of metal turning and/or stamping We make guide bars, pistons, and crankshafts in our metal areas Use of quality tools 8D, FMEA, Process Audits- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.
- Establishes programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality activities.
- Develops and generates statistical reports on inspection activities and results, new product or process testing results, etc. and recommends action as required.
- Maintains currency with respect to technical skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.
- All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience.
