Job Description
Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting the various functions for Quality Assurance and supervising quality assurance personnel. This position is responsible for facilitating/recommending /implementing corrective actions while working with customers, internal personnel and suppliers. Some expectations in this role is participating in Six-Sigma projects where applicable along with participating in the Plant Quality Board and other engineering/production taskforces as needed. Also includes internal quality system auditing to IATF16949/ISO9001/ISO14001, completing requested PPAPs for the customer(s), performing GR&R, maintaining plant calibration system and measurement system analysis (MSA).Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer quality liaison for any and all quality complaints or rejects, i.e. respond as primary contact for nonconforming material (NCMs) and corrective actions (CARs). Primary auditor for internal quality audits (IATF16949/ISO9001/ISO14001). Facilitate, recommend, and help implement corrective actions. Corrective actions include working directly with customers, plant personnel, and suppliers. Write formal CAR responses to customers as needed. Maintain customer quality certifications where required.
