We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support and maintain a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible manufacturing operation at our facility. This role will assist with implementing EHS programs, ensuring OSHA and environmental compliance, supporting safety training initiatives, conducting audits and investigations, and driving continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, hands-on, and comfortable working directly with employees on the manufacturing floor.Key Responsibilities:
Support and administer facility safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations. Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments throughout the facility and recommend corrective actions. Assist in investigating workplace incidents, near misses, injuries, and environmental events, including root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up. Coordinate and track employee safety training, certifications, and onboarding programs. Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, SDS documentation, training records, and other EHS compliance documentation. Assist with environmental compliance activities, including waste management, spill prevention, stormwater programs, and hazardous material handling. Partner with supervisors and production teams to promote a strong safety culture and employee engagement. Monitor PPE usage and support implementation of appropriate safety controls and procedures. Participate in emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response coordination. Support workers' compensation administration and return-to-work processes as needed. Track safety metrics, KPIs, and corrective action items and prepare reports for leadership. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety, ergonomics, and environmental performance. Coordinate with outside vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies during inspections or projects. Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.Skills/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred. Experience with OSHA compliance, incident investigations, and safety training are preferred. CPR/First Aid certification and/or OSHA certifications are a plus.Open Schedule:
