Event Coordinator

The La Porte Firehouse is a restored historic space being reimagined as a community hub + event venue —live music, private events, seasonal festivals, and more. We're looking for someone who doesn't just "manage events," but creates them, fills them, and executes them at a high level . This is an opportunity to help build something from the ground up: Shape the event calendar Work directly with ownership Turn ideas into packed nights What You'll Do 1. Fill the Calendar Source and book events (private + public) Build relationships with local businesses, artists, and organizers Respond to inbound inquiries and convert to bookings 2. Execute Events Coordinate vendors, rentals, and logistics Be on-site for events (setup → execution → teardown) Ensure a smooth, high-quality guest experience 3. Create Energy Help develop event ideas (summer series, fall fest, themed nights) Work with marketing to promote events (social, flyers, partnerships) Think in terms of "what gets people to show up?" 4. Manage Operations Schedule staff (bar, support, etc.) Order supplies and coordinate needs Track basic metrics (attendance, revenue per event) What We're Looking For Organized, but not robotic—you can adapt in real time Comfortable talking to anyone (vendors, customers, bands, etc.) Naturally resourceful and proactive Willing to work nights/weekends when events happen Bonus if you've worked in: Events, hospitality, bars/restaurants, or promotions What Success Looks Like A consistent, full event calendar Smooth, well-run events Growing attendance and repeat bookings The Firehouse becoming a go-to venue in the area Compensation $18-$25/hour (based on experience) Performance bonus tied to: Events booked Event revenue Why This Role is Different This isn't a corporate event job.
