Position:
The Tehama County Health Services Executive Director is a department head level position and serves as the appointing authority for all personnel of the Health Services Agency. Within State and Federal laws, regulations and rules. this position plans, administers and directs the integrated services of public health, mental health, alcohol and drug services programs, rural health outpatient clinic and other department programs. This top management level position serves as part of the Health Services Agency Management Team and reports to the Board of Supervisors, as well as, provides direct supervision to Health Services Agency management and administrative support staff. Click here to learn more about Tehama County! Assesses health service needs; plans, implements and administers all services of the Health Services Agency to meet these needs. Establishes operating policies for the Health Services Agency to ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Local laws and regulations. Develops, implements and evaluates long-range management and service objectives. Coordinates the activities of the Health Services Agency with related Federal, State and Local agencies to maximize revenue and eliminate duplication of services. Directly supervises, coordinates and evaluates the performance of Assistant Executive Directors, Compliance Officer, Administrative Secretary III, and other management level employees, as necessary; serves as appointing authority for all staff of the Health Services Agency. Oversees the development of and monitors the Health Services Agency's annual plans, contracts and budgets necessary for operations. For a full job description, click here . Any combination of training and experience which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12 th ) grade AND graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Master's degree in a health care related field and; Two years of health care administrative experience which included supervisory responsibilities, OR Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12 th ) grade AND graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a health care related field and; Four (4) years of progressively higher levels of health care administrative experience which included supervisory responsibilities. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.License & Special Requirements:
Possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, a valid California Class C driver's license and a satisfactory driving record is required. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Tehama County is currently recruiting for one (1) future vacancy. In addition, Tehama County is establishing an eligibility list to fill future vacancies for the Executive Director, Health Services Agency, as well as subsequent vacancies which occur during the life of the eligibility list. In compliance with current regulations in the state of California, this position does not require employees obtain aCOVID-19
vaccination, although it is highly recommended. New employees should anticipate being hired at the beginning step of the salary range. Candidates who exceed entry level qualifications may be considered, with approval from the Board of Supervisors, for placement at other than A step.
