We manage a diverse portfolio of multifamily, commercial, and mixed-use properties throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Our portfolio includes properties developed and owned by our parent real estate development company, as well as properties owned by private clients. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Property Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in real estate accounting and property management, with the ability to independently manage accounting tasks, meet deadlines, and effectively communicate with both internal team members and clients. Responsibilities Manage and assist with monthly AP and AR processes, including tenant billings and NNN/CAM reconciliations Review and ensure accurate coding of invoices, journal entries, and other accounting transactions in accordance with budgets, accounting policies, and procedures Monitor cash flow and prepare monthly cash flow statements and projections; ensure critical payments are processed timely and prepare funding requests and owner distributions as needed Perform month-end closing activities, including bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and account analyses Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with various client and reporting requirements Prepare and file 1099 forms and assist with other year-end reporting requirements Ensure financial records and reporting are maintained in accordance with company policies, GAAP, and applicable regulatory requirements Assist with the preparation of annual operating budgets and financial forecasts Communicate and collaborate effectively with clients, tenants, vendors, and internal team members while providing a high level of customer service Assist management with special projects and other accounting-related tasks as assigned Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required 3+ years of experience in real estate/property accounting is required Hands-on experience with AppFolio is required Strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping principles Experience with AP, AR, bank reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through Strong operational and customer service skills with the ability to solve problems independently Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and charts, is required Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision High level of professionalism and confidentiality Bilingual in English and Mandarin is a plus A proactive attitude and strong sense of urgency are essential
