Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing comprehensive accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and maintaining compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant standards. Your expertise will support our organization's financial health by overseeing day-to-day bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, and assisting with audits. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where precision and integrity are paramount. Duties Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections. Reconcile bank statements, balance sheets, and account ledgers through detailed account analysis and account reconciliation procedures. Prepare journal entries, ledger postings, and month-end closing activities in accordance with GAAP and corporate accounting policies. Support internal controls by ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and handling confidential information securely. Assist with financial reporting, including balance sheet reconciliation and financial data analysis using Excel data analysis tools. Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles with a strong understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and journal entries. Proficiency in multiple financial software platforms including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or similar systems. Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and public accounting practices is a plus. Strong technical accounting skills with knowledge of GAAP regulations and SOX compliance procedures. Excellent numeracy skills combined with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and Excel data analysis. Experience handling accounts payable/receivable management, balance sheet reconciliation, and month-end closing activities. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information responsibly. Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and supporting audit processes.
Requirement and Preferience:

Pay:
$18.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 per week
