Job Description
Description A Staff Accountant role with exposure to the entire business — not just one piece of the ledger. A growing professional services organization in Encinitas is looking for a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. Unlike a highly transactional accounting position, this role will give you exposure to general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, billing, expenses, and financial reporting. This is a strong opportunity for an accountant who has established a foundation in accounting and is ready to take on more responsibility. Your responsibilities
+ Prepare recurring journal entries
+ Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
+ Maintain general ledger accounts
+ Assist with month-end and year-end close
+ Review AP and AR activity
+ Assist with customer billing and account reconciliations
+ Prepare monthly financial reports
+ Maintain prepaid and accrual schedules
+ Assist with fixed asset accounting
+ Analyze account balances and investigate discrepancies
+ Support expense reporting and employee reimbursements
+ Assist with audit and tax requests
+ Maintain organized accounting records
+ Help improve accounting procedures and workflows
+ Support the Controller and Senior Accounting team with special projects Requirements + 2-4 years of accounting experience
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
+ Strong understanding of debits, credits, and reconciliations
+ Proficiency with Excel
+ Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or another ERP
+ Strong attention to detail
+ Ability to meet month-end deadlines
+ Excellent analytical and organizational skills
