This is a Direct Hire role starting at $75,000 annually. The Staff Accountant supports the financial operations of a growing agricultural company by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role collaborates with operations, production, and management teams to provide timely financial reporting and analysis. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure proper recording of financial transactions. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, inventory, and balance sheet accounts. Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management functions. Track crop, ranch, farming, and operational costs to support profitability analysis. Prepare financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for management. Support annual audits, tax reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements. Monitor fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and inventory valuation. Identify process improvements and assist with implementing accounting controls. Partner with operational teams to ensure accurate reporting of agricultural activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of accounting experience; agriculture experience preferred. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Proficiency in Excel and accounting software/ERP systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
