Naugatuck, CT Compensation:
45k – 55k A growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Junior Accountant who wants hands-on exposure to cash management, reconciliations, journal entries, and a variety of general accounting functions. The Junior Accountant will help maintain accurate financial records, support month-end close, and assist with daily accounting activities across multiple entities and accounts. Why You'll Love This Opportunity Gain broad experience across treasury and general accounting functions Work with multiple bank accounts and operating entities Join a collaborative team that supports professional development Build valuable skills in reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting Opportunity to grow within a busy accounting environment Key Responsibilities of the Junior Accountant As a Junior Accountant , you will: Perform weekly cash and bank reconciliations across multiple accounts Download and review daily banking activity and identify discrepancies Prepare and post journal entries related to cash and treasury activity Research and resolve outstanding reconciling items Assist with month-end close, including cash reconciliations and financial reporting Maintain organized financial documentation for audits and internal reporting Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset, and inventory transactions Enter and maintain financial information within the ERP system Organize accounting records within shared drives and digital filing systems Communicate with internal teams regarding questions, discrepancies, and unresolved items Assist with additional accounting projects and administrative responsibilities as needed Preferred Qualifications of the Junior Accountant 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or treasury-related experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Understanding of basic accounting principles, debits and credits, and journal entries Experience performing account or bank reconciliations Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems; any ERP experience is preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage deadlines and occasional overtime during month-end close Experience in a manufacturing or multi-entity environment is a plus Exposure to multiple currencies is a plus #
