Head of Accounting Job Function Summary:
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly accounting functions across all Oysters Rock Hospitality entities and affiliated nonprofit, with primary ownership of payroll, reconciliations, and month-end close support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Process and post bi-weekly payroll across all entities in R365. Complete monthly bank reconciliations for all ORH entities, reviewed by Head of Accounting. Complete monthly credit card reconciliations for all ORH entities, reviewed by Head of Accounting. Maintain shareholder loan schedules and P&I updates across all entities. Prepare and post monthly GL journal entries and assist with account reconciliations. Support monthly sales tax reporting and filing. Code and document intercompany transactions across all entities. Contribute to budget variance analysis and monthly cost reporting. Support month-end close and provide AP backup coverage when needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required. 1-3 years of accounting experience; multi-entity or hospitality experience a plus. Experience with R365, QuickBooks Online, or restaurant POS systems preferred. Ability to effectively communicate across departments and with management. Ability to use standard desktop with Microsoft Office and internet/cloud systems. Strong organizational skills; ability to manage recurring deadlines independently.
