US GAAP knowledge is a must. QBO and QB desktop is a must. Responsibilities Bookkeeping work, including monthly closes and historical cleanups Tax Preparation assistance Oversee and manage QBO contractors, ensuring adherence to firm standards and timelines Lead client accounting meetings, addressing questions and providing financial clarity Supervise payroll processing and ensure compliance and accuracy Own monthly close oversight, ensuring all deadlines are met Train and coach staff; identify gaps and recommend improvements Enforce quality control standards across all accounting deliverables Requirements Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel , including formulas, pivot tables, and data review/cleanup 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a client-facing or firm environment Proven experience reviewing and correcting bookkeeping work completed by others Prior experience managing contractors or junior accounting staff Strong understanding of monthly close processes , reconciliations, and financial statements Payroll oversight experience (multi-state a plus) Ability to lead and run client accounting meetings with confidence and clarity Experience training staff using written SOPs and enforcing standard processes High attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy and quality control Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet firm-wide deadlines Comfortable tracking and being accountable to KPIs Excellent written and verbal communication skills
