Morningside University's Rosen School of Business seeks applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Accounting to begin August 16, 2027. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty position. Strong candidates will be those who are eager to share their knowledge, skills and experiences with Morningside students, while actively contributing to the School's projects and initiatives. We are particularly interested in applicants who can teach a range of introductory to advanced undergraduate courses. There may be opportunities for the selected candidate to teach MBA-level courses, if they are eligible to do so. Ideal candidates will be those with prior teaching experience, industry experience, or experience in auditing or taxation. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and service to the School, University, profession, and community. The faculty member will assist in supporting the Accounting majors, including curriculum review, course scheduling input, and assessment data collection supporting Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) accreditation. The faculty member will contribute to the School's strategic capstone and lead the continued development of a rigorous accounting curriculum as the School pursues initial programmatic accreditation from IACBE. • A full teaching load is 24 credits per academic year.
• Our semester-long undergraduate classes are 4-credit hours courses. Some 2-credit courses are offered for either the first half (FH) or second half (SH) of the semester.
• MBA-level classes are concentrated 3-credit hour courses that are offered either FH or SH of any given semester (with additional MBA-level courses offered during the summer).
• Opportunities to teach overload and/or teach during the summer session may be possible, dependent upon the student demand and approval by Academic Affairs.

Qualifications The minimum requirements for this position are a Master's Degree in Accounting or MBA and an active C.P.A. license for any state in the United States. Relevant experience and preferred qualifications include:

• An earned doctorate (Ph.D., D.B.A., or other relevant terminal or professional doctorate) in Accounting or a closely related business discipline. Candidates who are ABD will be considered.
• Undergraduate and graduate level teaching experience
• Experience mentoring or advising students
• Professional accounting, tax, or auditing experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with (or eagerness to learn) modern instructional technologies During the academic year, faculty are expected to work on campus in Sioux City, Iowa.

About the Rosen School of Business The School currently offers majors in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Marketing, Managerial Accounting, Public Accounting, and Sports Management. Our School is proud to have a 99% placement rate for graduates and is experiencing growth across all its majors. There are over 400 students who have declared business majors.
