An Accountant organizes and maintains financial records and prepares financial statements for companies and organizations. Works as a public accountant (prepares financial documents where public disclosure is required by law, such as business balance sheets and tax returns), management accountant (prepares financial information for internal use by a company) or government accountant (maintains records for government agencies).
A rapidly growing robotics company in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant to join its expanding finance team. This position will play a key role in the monthly close, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and operational accounting while helping the organization build scalable processes as it continues to grow. The ideal candidate brings strong NetSuite experience , a solid understanding of GAAP, and experience working in a manufacturing, hardware, technology, or other inventory-driven environment. Robotics companies commonly require accounting around inventory, WIP, BOMs, fixed assets, and manufacturing costs in addition to traditional GL responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Support and execute the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and other general ledger activity. Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Maintain accurate financial records and reporting within NetSuite . Support accounting for inventory, COGS, WIP, fixed assets, and other operational accounts. Assist with inventory reconciliations, physical inventory/cycle counts, and related adjustments. Partner with operations, supply chain, procurement, and other departments to ensure accurate accounting for business activity. Prepare financial reporting schedules and perform budget-to-actual and variance analysis. Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to documentation requests. Ensure accounting activities comply with U.S. GAAP and established internal controls. Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes within NetSuite. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and special projects as the organization scales. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 4+ years of progressive accounting experience , including strong general ledger and month-end close responsibilities. Strong hands-on NetSuite experience required. Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, financial reporting, and balance sheet analysis. Manufacturing, robotics, hardware, technology, or inventory-based industry experience strongly preferred. Exposure to inventory accounting, COGS, WIP, BOMs, standard costing, or manufacturing variances is highly desirable. Strong understanding of
U.S. GAAP.
Advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment where processes and responsibilities continue to evolve. CPA or CMA is a plus but not required.
