Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Oversee general ledger activity and maintain accurate financial records by reviewing transactions and confirming proper accounting treatment.
- Prepare and record journal entries while supporting timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and sub-ledgers, including payables, receivables, payroll, inventory, and banking activity.
- Produce periodic financial statements and management reports that support business planning and operational decision-making.
- Investigate variances and transaction discrepancies, then resolve issues to preserve the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Strengthen compliance by applying internal controls, following accounting standards, and maintaining organized supporting documentation.
- Partner with internal and external auditors by supplying schedules, explanations, and requested records during audit engagements.
- Complete required tax-related and government reporting in accordance with applicable regulations and filing deadlines.
- Contribute to accounting process improvements, policy updates, and system-related enhancements that increase efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Provide analytical support and day-to-day guidance to accounting colleagues and management on financial matters as needed.
