Job Description

Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to support daily accounting operations and help maintain accurate financial records. This position will contribute across payables, receivables, reconciliations, and monthly close activities while partnering with the broader accounting team to meet reporting deadlines. The ideal candidate brings strong small to midsize ERP experience, sound accounting knowledge, and a disciplined approach to detail in a fast-moving environment. Responsibilities:
  • Review supplier invoices for completeness, approval, and proper general ledger classification before recording them in the accounting system.
  • Enter accounts payable transactions promptly, manage vendor communications, and address billing questions or discrepancies with careful attention to detail.
  • Coordinate regular payment cycles, including checks and electronic disbursements, while maintaining accurate vendor documentation such as tax forms and supporting records.
  • Create customer invoices, record incoming payments, and apply cash receipts correctly to open balances within QuickBooks.
  • Track outstanding receivables, follow up on overdue accounts, and assist with collection activities when payment issues arise.
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close, including bank, accrual, payable, and receivable accounts.
  • Research reconciling differences, resolve posting issues efficiently, and help ensure financial data is complete and reliable for reporting purposes.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and assist with recurring entries such as prepaids, amortization, and other period-end adjustments. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience that includes exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes.
  • Hands-on proficiency with small to midsize ERP
  • Working knowledge of general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliation practices.
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to work efficiently with formulas and data analysis tools; experience with pivot tables or lookups is beneficial.
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and follow-through when managing multiple deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting, intercompany activity, inventory-related accounting, or progress toward an accounting certification is a plus.
