Finance Summary - Job Responsibilities -Activities:
AMSC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting/Finance Intern to join our high-performing Finance team. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience with real-world projects that directly impact our financial operations. You'll support transactional processes in Oracle, assist with account reconciliations, contribute to quarterly close activities, and play a key role in audit preparation and SOX compliance. This is a valuable opportunity to build foundational skills, work alongside experienced professionals, and jumpstart your career in accounting or finance.Functions:
- Enter and manage financial transactions in Oracle, including prepaid expenses, cash activity, and fixed asset records
- Prepare accurate and timely account reconciliations for cash, prepaids, other assets, and fixed assets
- Collaborate on quarter-end close activities and help ensure timely submission of financial reports
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits, including gathering audit selections and documentation
- Support the team in compiling and reviewing SOX compliance documentation and internal controls
- Contribute to the development and improvement of reporting tools, templates, and process documentation
- Participate in ad hoc financial analysis, special projects, and process improvement initiatives
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, providing support and information in a professional and customer-focused manner Other accounting tasks as needed Education -
Experience:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Accounting or a related field
- Availability to work 15-20 hours per week over the course of 1 year
Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
