Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our team in Ayer, MA. This is a part-time, temporary position with the possibility of permanent placement based on performance and business needs. In this role, you will play an active part in our daily financial operations, focusing on general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and supporting our month-end close. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to identifying process improvements.
KEYROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reconcile Accounts:
Perform routine bank and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
Support Closings:
Actively assist with month-end close processes.
Enter Journal Entries:
Prepare and accurately enter journal entries into the accounting system.
Provide Analytical Support:
Deliver financial reporting and analytical support.
Improve Processes:
Proactively identify opportunities for workflow and financial process improvements.
Organize Records:
Maintain tidy, well-organized digital and physical financial documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Experience:
1 to 3 years of experience in general office, bookkeeping, or accounts payable/receivable roles.
Software Knowledge:
Proven familiarity with corporate accounting software.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting.
Core Competencies:
Exceptional attention to detail and superior organizational skills. The ability to keep sensitive financial information confidential. The ability to follow all Company policies and procedures to include but not limited to: Quality and Food Safety Policies, GMP's, General and Safety Work rules. Other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires extended sitting/standing at a computer monitor.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
