Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our financial team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and maintaining accurate financial records. Your expertise will support our organization's financial health by executing precise bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and financial data analysis. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of accounting software and systems, contribute to financial reporting, and uphold the integrity of confidential information. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, excellent numeracy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as Paychex, ADP, Workday, or Kronos to ensure timely payments and collections. Prepare journal entries, perform balance sheet reconciliations, and maintain the general ledger in accordance with GAAP standards. Conduct account reconciliation activities across multiple systems including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. Support month-end and year-end closing procedures by analyzing financial statements and preparing detailed reports. Assist with internal controls related to SOX compliance by documenting processes and supporting audit requests. Handle data entry tasks with precision using 10 key typing skills and double-entry bookkeeping methods. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, financial analysis, and forecasting activities using Excel data analysis techniques. Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information while providing excellent customer service to internal stakeholders. Experience Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting. Demonstrated proficiency in accounting software systems including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, UltiPro or similar platforms; experience with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel is essential. Familiarity with public accounting practices or working within a regulated environment is preferred. Knowledge of technical accounting standards such as GAAP and SOX compliance requirements is highly desirable. Prior experience managing accounts payable/receivable processes along with account reconciliation tasks is required. Strong numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate bookkeeping and balance sheet reconciliation. $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
