Description Corporate Accounting Manager Location:
West Metro Position Overview Our client is a well-established organization seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to join its finance and accounting team. This position will oversee day-to-day accounting activities while providing leadership, direction, and development to a small accounting team. The Corporate Accounting Manager will manage 2-3 accounting professionals and serve as a key partner to the Director of Finance. This is a hands-on management position that combines accounting responsibilities with team leadership, process improvement, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, the ability to work independently, and an interest in taking the next step into a formal management role. Candidates coming directly from public accounting will also be considered. Key Responsibilities
+ Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 2-3 accounting professionals.
+ Oversee day-to-day corporate accounting activities, including general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
+ Review accounting work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established processes.
+ Support the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and management reporting.
+ Assist with accounts payable, payroll, and other accounting functions as needed.
+ Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.
+ Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end accounting activities.
+ Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis as needed.
+ Partner with the Director of Finance on accounting initiatives and special projects.
+ Provide guidance and support to accounting team members while helping establish priorities and deadlines.
+ Assist with audits, tax-related requests, and other external reporting requirements.
+ Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues.
+ Help maintain appropriate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Requirements Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. + 4+ years of accounting experience required.
+ Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
+ Strong candidates at the Senior Accountant level who have mentored employees, reviewed others' work, or informally led accounting functions will be considered.
+ Candidates coming directly from public accounting are also encouraged to apply.
+ Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
+ Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work effectively with both accounting team members and organizational leadership.
