Job Summary :
The Junior Accountant supports the accounting department with day-to-day financial transactions, reconciliations, reporting, and administrative accounting activities. This position is ideal for someone developing their accounting career and looking to gain experience in general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in the accounting system. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. Prepare bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures. Prepare and post journal entries under the direction of senior accounting staff. Research and resolve discrepancies in financial records. Assist with preparation of financial reports and management reports. Maintain organized accounting records and documentation. Support audits by gathering schedules and supporting documentation. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis as needed. Ensure transactions are processed in accordance with company policies and accounting standards. Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned. Required Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities for Consideration as a
Candidate :
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 0-2 years of accounting experience; internships or relevant coursework may qualify. Basic understanding of GAAP and accounting principles . Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is a plus. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively as part of a team.
