Job Description

Junior Accountant Our independent ShopRite Supermarket chain is owned and operated by Inserra Supermarkets Inc. The chain consists of 26 stores throughout New Jersey and Rockland County, New York. We are currently growing quickly and as a result are seeking a Junior Accountant who would be working directly with our Finance and Operation Management Team. Seeking an individual with A/P, A/R, G/L, and Bank Reconciliation experience. This role will be a key part of a team of professionals who are responsible for managing and reporting accurate and timely financial data to both internal and external parties.
Responsibilities:
Perform General Accounting duties Perform weekly bank statement reconciliations. Analyze general ledger for accuracy preparing journal entries as needed. Assist with monthly, quarterly and year end closing, including annual audit. Monitor, analyze and reconcile general ledger, prepaid expenses, miscellaneous. receivables, accruals and other balance sheet accounts. Process Accounts Payable statements checking for accuracy, classifying expenses and tracking credits due. Assist in year end process, including the Annual Audits Assist with other accounting tasks and projects as assigned. Background Required Associates or Bachelor of Science in Accounting. 2 years experience working in an accounting/finance department is desirable. Strong analytical and problem - solving abilities. Knowledge of GAAP Excellent communication, time management, organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi task. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
