Job Description
Responsibilities:
Support monthly and year-end closing activities by preparing schedules, reconciling accounts, and helping ensure timely financial reporting. Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger through regular review, account analysis, and correction of discrepancies when needed. Prepare and post journal entries with proper documentation and alignment to established accounting procedures. Perform cost accounting work by analyzing product, inventory, or operational costs and identifying variances that impact financial results. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information, resolve issues, and support day-to-day accounting operations. Use Excel and internal accounting platforms to organize data, build reports, and improve visibility into financial performance. Assist with inventory- and manufacturing-related accounting tasks where applicable, including tracking cost drivers and supporting related reconciliations. At least 3 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role. Hands-on background in month-end close, general ledger activity, and journal entry preparation. Experience with cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or product-based environment. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with large data sets and financial reporting tools. Familiarity with multiple accounting or ERP systems and the ability to learn new platforms quickly. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage deadlines and adapt effectively in a fast-paced work setting.
