Finance Full-time (35 hours per week), Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
Salary:
$45,000
Annually Mission Statement:

The YWCA of the Niagara the Frontier, Inc. seeks a detail-oriented Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations, prepare grant reports, general ledger, account receivables, restricted funds, agency audits, 1099's, and other mandated compliance reporting. In this role, you will use Sage accounting software and Microsoft Word and Excel. All NYS grants reports are completed in different software programs. You will report to the Director of Finance and help maintain strong internal controls while supporting our mission-driven programs.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate financial records and manage the general ledger in compliance with GGAP and non-profit fund accounting standards.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, investment accounts, credit card statements and customer ledgers regularly.
  • Post invoices and receipts for all children programs and rent into Sage accounting software. (cash, credit card, electronic).
  • Produces accounts receivable aging schedule and works with receptionist monthly to identify and resolve open receivables for children's programs.
  • Prepares and posts journal entries as required
  • Records & tracks security deposits. (Works with Housing Manager)
  • Prepares invoices for Domestic Violence Emergency shelter clients and submits to appropriate Social Services Department. (Works with Shelter Manager)
  • Track donations on Excel Spreadsheet and reconciles with Sage accounting software.
  • Maintains fixed asset schedule
  • Assists Finance Director in completing quarterly billing for reimbursable grants.
  • Assists Finance Director in gathering and preparing documents required for grant bids and renewals.
  • Independent Contractor IRS reporting of 1099-Misc. and 1099-NEC.
  • Reports monthly sales tax online
  • Prepare schedules and documents for the annual independent audit.
  • Schedules fingerprinting appointments as necessary.
  • Covers Front Desk/Reception Area in the event of receptionist and Payroll Clerk absences as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
2 to 4+ years of professional accounting experience; nonprofit fund accounting background preferred.
Education:
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
Preferred, but not required to know Sage accounting software.
Soft Skills:
Strong ethical judgment, organizational skills, and clear communication abilities to collaborate with the YWCA team and customers.
Pay:
$45,000.00 per year
