Job Summary:
Davis Tool, Inc., a well-established manufacturer in Hillsboro, has an exciting opportunity for an accountant who wants to be challenged. Our small company size means quick learning with a wide variety of tasks and almost immediate involvement with all areas of accounting. This position reports to the Controller. This role involves working closely with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and human resources with an opportunity, as leadership skills grow, to become involved with general ledger maintenance, financial statements, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, product costing, and inventory accounting. Responsibilities
  • Enter financial and payroll transactions into the appropriate computer software
  • Receive and record deposits, cash and checks
  • Enter invoices and payable transactions, assigning each to an appropriate account
  • Generate supplier payments and process bi-weekly payroll for employees
  • Produce standard and ad hoc accounting, finance, and HR reports and charts
  • Ensure accuracy in figures, postings, and reports
  • Troubleshoot and resolve differences in the records
  • Manage a document control system
  • Extensively use accounting, office/spreadsheet, and company/database software applications
  • Interact in person, by phone and email with employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Follow standard procedures / work instructions
  • Work effectively in a team Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting and financial principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of current payroll law and practices
  • Attention to detail, well organized, accuracy of work, and strong analytical skills
  • Strong problem solving skills: listening to, interpreting, and meeting the needs of others; diagnosing and rectifying problems.
  • Able to set and achieve goals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with accounting and office software
