Senior Accountant Roessel Joy Sudbury, MA Job Details Full-time | Contract $35 - $40 an hour 3 days ago Qualifications Oracle Attention to detail GAAP Document review SAP ERP Full Job Description Overview We're seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant on a temporary basis to support account reconciliation work, strengthen close processes, and assist with sales tax reporting during a period of elevated volume/transition. Responsibilities Perform detailed account reconciliations across multiple entities/ledgers. Investigate and resolve reconciling items down to the transaction level — comfortable tracing discrepancies through subledgers, bank feeds, and journal entry history rather than accepting "close enough" Create and/or review journal entries with strong supporting documentation Assist with multi-state sales tax return preparation, reconciliation of tax liability accounts, and support for tax compliance filings Analyze payment and remittance data to flag customers who have not yet updated to new banking instructions, and drive prioritized outreach to resolve misdirected payments during the bank transition Run daily transactional processes such as invoicing and commission calculations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion Identify process breakdowns or control gaps surfaced during reconciliation work and recommend fixes Partner with Controller and Assistant Controller on month-end/quarter-end close tasks Experience 7+ years progressive accounting experience, including senior-level or reconciliation-focused roles Strong, current working knowledge of US GAAP Demonstrated depth in balance sheet reconciliations at scale Experience with multi-state sales tax reporting; Canadian
