STAFF ACCOUNTANT SUMMARY
To support the Financial Reporting Supervisor and CFO in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance / Accounting Department.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain the fixed asset system and associated depreciation schedules; provide monthly detail for journal entries; insure proper recording of new purchases and disposals Perform daily, weekly and monthly balance sheet reconciliations Perform daily, weekly and monthly balancing of the Bank's internal deposit accounts Perform daily, weekly and monthly journal entries in the Bank's general ledger system Maintain and balance the pre-paid assets system and perform reconciliations Maintain files as needed within the department Prepare correspondence as needed within the department Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time - quite often on short notice - by the Financial Reporting Supervisor or CFO Assist in the preparation of various management reports
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors in Accounting or Finance with emphasis in Accounting preferred Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Strong attention to details, precise and demonstrates strong organizational skills Strong skills in dealing with financial and numeric data Strong skills in use of Excel Spreadsheets Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Demonstrates excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done to meet important deadlines, complete projects, etc. often required of department
