Senior Accountant - Hybrid

Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure timely completion of month end close process, preparation of account reconciliations, and tracking of IT project spend. This person in this role will support the companies accounting department's objective to provide accurate accounting information to enable sound decisions and drive management actions as it relates to Department's operational and project spend.

Plano (1 -2 days onsite)

  • Perform accounting activities including the month-end close process.
  • Review and reconcile month-end data reports for respective journal entries.
  • Evaluate accuracy and reasonableness of financial information provided by business partners.
  • Perform month-end closing activities, including the preparation and recording of journal entries for US GAAP reporting.
  • Support IT projects to ensure appropriate accounting treatment working with various stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation and various special projects as requested by management.
  • Prepare and review supporting schedules and documentation as required for the financial audits by internal and external auditors.
  • Provide the information required for tax reporting and audits.
  • Independently prepare and respond to various ad-hoc requests from internal departments, timely and accurately.
  • Support Accounting projects/initiatives by providing subject matter expertise for your focus areas. This would include providing input on accounting and reporting practices and internal control environment.
  • Four-Year College Degree (BA or BS] (Prefer Accounting degree) and relevant work experience.
  • Strong basic accounting understanding and expertise.
  • Strong written documentation and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and be proactive.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications or software tools.
  • Some public accounting or industry experience performing accounting.
