Feller & Wendt, LLC is a fast-growing personal injury law firm with offices in Utah, Arizona, and Idaho. As our firm continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Layton, Utah. This is a hands-on accounting role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, and improving processes. You'll be responsible for key areas of our accounting operations, including month-end close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, accounts payable, expense management, and case-cost accounting. This is an individual-contributor position with no direct reports. What You'll Do Prepare journal entries, accruals, account analyses, and supporting schedules for month-end close Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, liability accounts, clearing accounts, and other balance sheet accounts Assist with monthly financial statements and management reporting Research variances, discrepancies, and unusual account activity Maintain accurate general ledger activity and supporting documentation Review vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, credit card transactions, and expense coding Support accounts payable and payment approval processes Track and reconcile case-related costs and other matter-related expenses Assist with year-end close, 1099 reporting, tax schedules, and external accountant requests Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and document accounting processes Partner with other departments to ensure financial information is accurate and timely What We're Looking For 4+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong general ledger and month-end close experience Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations Understanding of accrual accounting and financial statements Strong Excel skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to investigate discrepancies and solve accounting problems independently Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities Strong communication skills Ability to handle confidential financial information appropriately Preferred, But Not Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Professional services, legal, or multi-location accounting experience QuickBooks Online or comparable accounting software

We're looking for a strong accountant who can learn our systems—not someone who has already used every piece of our technology.
