Job Description

Houff Corporation is seeking a Senior Payroll & Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and general bookkeeping across multiple affiliated companies. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage a variety of financial tasks with accuracy and confidentiality. What You'll Do Process payroll for multiple companies Maintain PTO, holiday, and employee time records Handle accounts payable: enter invoices, reconcile statements, prepare vendor payments Manage accounts receivable: process billing, reconcile customer accounts, record deposits Prepare and file sales/use tax and IFTA reports Perform bookkeeping for multiple entities Provide backup support for accounting team members when needed What We're Looking For Previous experience in payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable required. Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge with multi-company experience preferred. Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and general accounting systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with high accuracy. Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding financial and employee information. Preferred Qualifications Experience in transportation, logistics, or related industries Familiarity with IFTA reporting and multi-company bookkeeping Banking and tax reporting experience (sales/use tax, payroll deposits, ACH processing) If you're a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys variety in your work, we'd love to hear from you!
