Job Description
Job Summary A professional real estate organization in Bellevue, WA is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to support accounting operations for a portfolio of properties. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in property accounting, real estate accounting, or commercial property management who enjoys accurate financial reporting, reconciliation work, and cross-functional collaboration. The Property Accountant will work closely with experienced accounting and property management teams in a stable, team-focused environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activity for an assigned portfolio of properties, including general ledger maintenance and property-level financial records.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Perform bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations while supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
- Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, tenant charges, payments, rent rolls, tenant ledgers, and property financial activity for accuracy.
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances, investigate discrepancies, and assist with budgeting, forecasting, audits, tax reporting, and financial documentation.
- Coordinate with property managers, vendors, tenants, and internal accounting teams to resolve accounting issues and improve accuracy. Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $80,000 to $95,000 per year.

- Manage accounting activities for a portfolio of real estate properties.
- Prepare property-level financial statements, reports, journal entries, reconciliations, and close support.
- Review tenant billing, rent rolls, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activity.
- Support budget-to-actual analysis, audits, forecasting, and financial documentation.
- 2+ years of accounting experience, with property or real estate accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Experience working with accounting software or property management software.
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and financial data analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced accounting environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with property management and accounting teams. Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial real estate accounting experience.
- Property management accounting experience.
- Multifamily or residential property accounting experience.
- Experience with CAM reconciliations, operating expense recoveries, tenant billing, and rent rolls.
- Experience preparing property-level financial statements and budget-to-actual analysis.
- Experience with real estate investment or development accounting.
- Experience using Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or similar property accounting systems.
