This direct hire opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in property accounting, real estate accounting, or commercial property management who enjoys accurate financial reporting, reconciliation work, and cross-functional collaboration. The Property Accountant will work closely with experienced accounting and property management teams in a stable, team-focused environment. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of assigned properties, strengthen real estate accounting expertise, and build a long-term career path within an established organization that values accuracy, accountability, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting activity for an assigned portfolio of properties, including general ledger maintenance and property-level financial records. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments. Perform bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations while supporting month-end and year-end close processes. Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, tenant charges, payments, rent rolls, tenant ledgers, and property financial activity for accuracy. Analyze budget-to-actual variances, investigate discrepancies, and assist with budgeting, forecasting, audits, tax reporting, and financial documentation. Coordinate with property managers, vendors, tenants, and internal accounting teams to resolve accounting issues and improve accuracy.
Compensation and Benefits Salary range:
$80,000 to $95,000 per year. Direct hire opportunity. Competitive compensation and benefits.
