Staff Accountant Location:

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join their team and play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial records, supporting the month-end close process, and performing critical bank and account reconciliations. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and month-end adjustments. Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Analyze financial transactions and investigate account variances. Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring company bank accounts are accurately reconciled to the general ledger. Identify, research, and resolve reconciling items, outstanding checks, banking discrepancies, and other account variances. Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including: Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable Prepaid Expenses Accrued Liabilities Other assigned accounts Assist with financial reporting and supporting documentation. Work cross-functionally to gather information and resolve accounting-related issues. Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls. Support additional accounting and finance projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Prior accounting experience with a strong focus on bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting. Experience preparing journal entries and supporting month-end close activities. Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience working within SAP or a similar ERP system. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
