ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR

Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid) $90,000

•$125,000 Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to support the leadership team and provide day-to-day oversight within the accounting department. This role will review and guide the work of staff and senior accountants, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support monthly and annual close processes across multiple entities. The position also handles research on GAAP and tax matters, prepares nonprofit tax filings, and assists with audit requests and management reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a continuous-improvement mindset.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Provide oversight and direction to accounting staff, ensuring adherence to established processes and controls Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation Assist with monthly close, including preparation of journal entries and financial statements for multiple entities Conduct research on GAAP, tax regulations, and complex accounting issues Prepare information for external audits and internal management reporting Assist with nonprofit tax filings (including 990s) and other regulatory reporting Develop analyses and ad hoc reports as needed Support ongoing process-improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting Experience preparing complex financial reports and resolving accounting issues Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint One of the following: CPA license with 3+ years of corporate accounting experience, or 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong GAAP knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

Active CPA certification 1+ year of supervisory or team-lead experience #
