Job Description
I. Job Summary Supervises aspects of the accounting department and coordinates the implementation of accounting controls. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervises and develops a team responsible for compliance controls, financial reporting, technical accounting support, reconciliations, and specialized fixed asset activities. Oversees SOX control execution, audit support activities, policy governance, and accounting procedure maintenance. Review fixed asset and capital project accounting analyses, including CIP monitoring, depreciation reviews, reconciliations, and journal entries. Oversees preparation and support of external reporting requirements, including property and equipment footnotes, accounting policy disclosures, rollforwards, and management reporting. Provides oversight of acquisitions, divestitures, cross-border transfers, impairments, and other complex or sensitive fixed asset transactions. Serves as the primary escalation point for asset shell issues, system exceptions, fleet asset matters, and capital project accounting concerns. Coordinates responses to internal and external audit requests and ensures the adequacy of supporting documentation and control evidence. Leads process improvement initiatives, automation opportunities, and standardization efforts within fixed asset and project accounting processes. Partners with Corporate Accounting, External Reporting, Tax, Fleet, Engineering, and Operational teams to ensure consistent application of accounting policies. Organizes resources, establishes priorities, monitors service levels, and ensures timely completion of deliverables across the COE team. Trains, coaches, develops, and evaluates employees while promoting technical accounting expertise and policy compliance. III. Qualifications A. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, in Accounting, Business Administration or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience. 5 years of previous experience (in addition to education requirement) B.
