Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to determine the extent of repairs needed
- Assess and document vehicle damage, including both mechanical and cosmetic issues
- Utilize automotive repair knowledge to accurately estimate the cost of repairs
- Collaborate with insurance companies and customers to negotiate repair costs and settlements
- Provide detailed reports and documentation to support repair estimates
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in automotive technology
- Maintain accurate records of appraisals, repair estimates, and customer interactions
Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of automotive systems
- Experience in auto body repair, auto restoration, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of service writing and auto estimating processes
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess vehicle damage accurately
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with insurance companies and customers
- Detail-oriented with the ability to document findings accurately
- Proficient in using computer software for estimating repairs and generating reports
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
