Job Description
Overview Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join our accounting department. In this role, you will manage outgoing vendor payments, process invoices, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate financial records to ensure smooth operational cash flow. The starting wage of $16.00 per hour is for an entry level experience. Actual starting wage will be based on the candidate's years of experience and level of skill and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities Invoice Processing:
Review, code, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system with high accuracy. Perform three-way matching (purchase order, receiving receipt, and invoice).Payment Management:
Schedule and execute payment runs via ACH, wire transfers, and physical checks while capturing early payment discounts where applicable.Vendor & Internal Relations:
Serve as the main point of contact for vendor inquiries, resolve billing discrepancies, and verify monthly vendor statements.Reconciliation & Reporting:
Reconcile accounts payable ledgers and support month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.Compliance & Documentation:
Maintain organized physical and digital accounting files, assist with annual 1099 reporting, and support internal or external audits. Multi-Sate sales and use tax reporting. Other duties as assigned.Qualifications & Requirements Education:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.Experience:
3-5 years of experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting support.Technical Proficiency:
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, BPCS, NetSuite) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with automated AP systems or OCR software is a plus.Key Skills:
High level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, time management, and effective written and verbal communication. Preferred Qualifications Certified Accounts Payable Associate (CAPA) designation. Understanding of basic general ledger structures and cost accounting principles.Pay:
