Job Summary The Accounting Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. This is an entry-level, detail-oriented role that supports the accounting department by accurately entering and tracking financial transactions, working under the direction of accounting and finance leadership. This position does not involve supervisory responsibility or decision-making authority over accounting policy. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable Enter and code vendor invoices into the accounting system Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents Process check runs, ACH payments, and vendor payments per approved schedules Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoice or payment status Maintain organized AP files, both physical and digital Flag discrepancies or duplicate invoices for review Accounts Receivable Generate and send customer invoices and statements Post incoming customer payments (checks, ACH, credit card) to the correct accounts Monitor accounts for past-due balances and send routine payment reminders Research and resolve basic billing discrepancies with customers Maintain organized AR files, both physical and digital General Perform basic reconciliations of AP/AR sub-ledgers to supporting documentation Enter financial data accurately into accounting software (Intellidealer formally CDK experience a plus) Assist with filing, scanning, and organizing financial records Escalate unresolved discrepancies, unusual transactions, or judgment calls to accounting leadership Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in accounting or bookkeeping a plus Prior AP/AR, data entry, or general office experience preferred but not required Comfortable working in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy Good organizational skills and ability to manage routine deadlines (e.g., check runs, invoicing cycles) Clear written and verbal communication for vendor and customer interactions Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion Work Environment Standard office setting, standard business hours. This role reports to accounting and finance leadership and does not have supervisory responsibilities.
