POSITION SUMMARY
Full-Time | $23.55 per hour | Rancho Cordova, CA (Onsite - 5 Days/Week) We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly disciplined Account Clerk II to support accounting operations within the Civil Division. This is a fast-paced, production-driven role responsible for the accurate processing and posting of financial transactions, primarily employer-issued checks and court-related payments. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in structured environments, enjoys high-volume data entry, and takes pride in accuracy and efficiency. Once trained, team members are expected to meet clearly defined production benchmarks while maintaining strict quality standards. Free on-site parking is provided.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions: Open, sort, organize, and batch incoming mail containing employer checks Accurately post batched checks to designated accounts for payment processing Scan, document, and reconcile returned checks Process court payments and payoff requests Prepare and issue refund checks to judgment debtors and creditors Review levy case files and process writ returns for court submission Assist with outgoing correspondence, including envelope preparation and mailing Maintain daily production expectations of approximately 300 posted checks (after training period) Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement discussions Support division needs through additional administrative and clerical tasks as assigned Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as assigned. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures, to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed. Efficiently performs duties as assigned and works as a team within division and company. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Strong data entry accuracy with consistent attention to detail in a moderate-to-high volume environment Ability to meet daily production expectations (approximately 300 transactions per day after training) while maintaining quality standards Professional and courteous communication skills, including limited telephone interaction as needed Experience with mail handling, document batching, scanning, filing, and general office support functions Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Windows-based systems Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (data tracking, basic formulas, spreadsheet navigation) Strong typing skills and comfort working within multiple computer systems simultaneously Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a structured workflow Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and court-related information Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a collaborative team environment Reliable attendance and punctuality
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 1 year experience in a professional office or accounting support role Experience with data entry, check processing, or accounts receivable strongly preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Physical Requirements:
Possible prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to dress in business casual. Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
