Job Description
Job Summary Provides administrative support to the accountants and accounting managers in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department. Performs accounts payable tasks and various other functions associated with the efficient operation of the accounting function. Calculates, posts, reconciles and maintains the accounting filing system. This is an entry-level position. Sponsorship help negotiable.
Education/Knowledge:
Entry level accounting Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred Experience (preferred): Proven accounting experience. Previous administrative experience Experience with ERP and Microsoft Office Suite SAP experienceSkills:
Detail-oriented Excellent organizational skills Effective communication skills High degree of accuracy Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles Must be able to work with confidential informationPhysical Demands/Work Environment:
Vision, hearing, and speech are required. Manual dexterity is necessary. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. This position will be performed predominantly in an office setting This position may require sitting for long periods of timeEssential Functions:
Ensures correct approval, sorting, coding and matching of invoices/receipts Maintains an orderly accounting filing system Continuously improves payment processes Calculates, posts and manages accounting figures and financial records Acts as a liaison with internal and external clients Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment Processes check requests Administers 1099 maintenance Reconciles vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies Assists in month end closing Maintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entriesAdditional Responsibilities:
Assists with other staff responsibilities as needed Sort and distribute incoming mail Performs other duties as requested Occasional overtimeJob Type:
