Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring the integrity of our accounting processes. Your expertise will support our organization's financial health by handling day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, reconciling accounts, and preparing essential financial reports. Duties Record and classify financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections. Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accuracy across all financial statements. Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and assist with month-end closing procedures in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Process payroll accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. Assist with budgeting, financial report writing, and analysis to support organizational decision-making. Conduct account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and review of debits & credits for accuracy. Support non-profit or governmental accounting functions if applicable, including grant tracking and fund accounting. Requirements Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with a strong understanding of accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or Quicken. Solid knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, GAAP standards, and financial concepts. Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance is highly desirable. Proficiency in account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management. Strong technical skills in financial software and a high level of accuracy in data entry (10 key typing). Ability to interpret financial reports, perform account analysis, and write clear financial reports. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Knowledge of governmental or non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
