Job Description
$62,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year (Commensurate with experience) Job Description Jorda Mechanical Contractor is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and highly adaptable Accounting & Operations Support Specialist to work directly with and assist our Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This position is ideal for someone with solid experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) who has a strong educational background in accounting or business, but who also enjoys a varied role. In addition to daily financial processing, you will serve as a key administrative liaison to executive leadership—assisting in cross-departmental operations, managing specialized administrative workflows, and leading support to accounting assistant II personnel. Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR): Code, enter, and process vendor invoices, subcontractor billings, and check runs. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice or billing discrepancies. Assist with posting customer receipts, issuing invoices, and tracking accounts receivable.
Month-End Closing & Financial Support:
Assist the CFO with End-of-Month (EOM) reconciliations and closing procedures. Prepare routine journal entries and gather supporting documentation for financial reporting.Specialized Administrative & Claims Filing Support:
Assist upper management with specialized administrative tasks, including preparing, tracking, and filing insurance or project claims when needed or requested. Perform high-volume, accurate data entry into company databases and management systems. Carry out any operational, administrative, or departmental tasks deemed necessary by the CFO or Executive Leadership to support company objectives.Team Leadership & Oversight:
Oversee, guide, and review the day-to-day workflow of the Accounting Assistant II to ensure accuracy, productivity, and adherence to company procedures.Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
2-4+ years of hands-on accounting support and general administrative experience, with demonstrated knowledge of AP and AR functions.Education:
Associate's degree, coursework, certifications or formal educational background in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting systems (construction accounting software like Sage/Timberline or QuickBooks is a plus). Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PDF document workflows.Leadership & Traits:
High level of accuracy, speed, and attention to detail. Flexible, "all-hands-on-deck" mindset ready to step into various administrative capacities as operational needs shift. Natural leadership skills to guide and oversee junior team member. Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential financial and claims documentation. - 2-4+ years' experience of working on an Accounting Clerk
- Good knowledge of MS Office٫ PDF, MS Word, Excel
- Knowledge of filing and record keeping tasks
- Accuracy٫ high performance and close attention to detail
- Strong data entry٫mathematical and word processing skills
- Organized and responsible
- High school degree; Associate degree or other relevant certification will be a bonus, but not required if satisfied through work experience.
