Full Job Description Part Time Accounting Assistant Location:
Quincy, MA Hours:
10-2 M-F Position Summary The Accounting Assistant will support the finance team by performing a variety of accounting and clerical tasks. This position will assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, maintain accurate financial records, process financial information, and provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the accounting department and office. Key Responsibilities Assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including processing invoices, verifying financial data, and reconciling accounts. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes by preparing, posting, and recording customer payments and vendor bills. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with company policies and procedures. Prepare, update, and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and accounting software with financial information. Assist with data entry and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner. Handle administrative tasks, including filing, scanning, organizing, and maintaining financial documents and records. Respond professionally to inquiries from vendors, clients, and internal team members regarding invoices, payments, and other financial transactions. Assist with account reconciliations and other accounting-related projects as needed. Maintain confidentiality of financial information and follow company policies regarding privacy and data security. Provide general administrative support to the accounting and finance team. Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks and projects as needed. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience as an Accounting Assistant, Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk, or in a similar accounting role is a plus. Proficiency with Google Workspace , including Google Sheets, Google Docs, Gmail, and Google Drive. Strong proficiency with spreadsheets and the ability to organize and maintain financial data accurately. Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or similar systems is preferred. Knowledge of Salesforce is helpful but not required. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information. Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
