Full Charge Bookkeeper
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a growing construction company in Irvington, Alabama. This position plays a central role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll activities, and producing timely reporting that helps leadership make informed decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on bookkeeping expertise, confidence working across the full accounting cycle, and advanced proficiency with QuickBooks-based systems.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping activities, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice entry, payment tracking, collections, and account maintenance.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, balance sheet accounts, and other key ledger items to maintain clean financial records.
- Prepare and post journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and support accurate month-end closing procedures.
- Administer full-cycle payroll for a workforce of fewer than 100 employees while maintaining compliance and accurate reporting.
- Produce financial statements and assist with cash flow monitoring, budget tracking, and other routine accounting analyses.
- Support annual budgeting efforts by compiling financial data, reviewing variances, and helping maintain planning accuracy.
- Coordinate documentation and account support for financial statement audits and other accounting reviews.
- Utilize computerized accounting platforms, including QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and QuickBooks Pro, to manage daily accounting operations efficiently.
