Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team at Modern Exteriors of Springfield to perform general accounting and office functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing assigned tasks for multiple entities and properties.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable. Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements monthly. Assist in preparing financial reports, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements. Process payroll and ensure proper tax withholdings and deductions i.e. 940, 941 transactions Manage general ledger entries and ensure proper documentation for all transactions. Work with company CPA to assist in tax preparation and audits. Handle any discrepancies or issues that arise in financial records. Monitor company expenses and ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines. Provide administrative support to senior management as needed.Qualifications:
Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred). Masters Degree preferred but not a requirement. Any certifications like QuickBooks or Certified Bookkeeper is a plus. This position is full-time with a 4-day work week with paid time off and sick pay. Compensation is based on experience and education from $52,000-$60,000 annually.
