Job Description
Accounting Officer Job Description:
The Accounting Officer processes accounts payable and prepares numerous general ledger reconciliations for LifeStore Financial Group and its subsidiaries. Reviews and verifies invoices for accuracy, prepares payments and manages related correspondence and vendor communications in a timely and efficient manner. Researches and resolves all open payable problems and maintains all payable records. Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with accounting principles, internal controls and all regulatory requirements. Primary Job Functions may include :- Process daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries.
- Balances numerous bank and general ledger accounts for the Company on daily and monthly basis.
- Responsible for the payment of all employee expense vouchers.
- Performs vault balancing for all branches, including the weekly money order.
- Maintains all accounts payable files.
- Prepares 1099s annually for LifeStore Financial Group and its subsidiaries.
- Performs analysis and research of all open accounts payable problems.
- Manages all automatic bill payments.
- Maintain files on W-9s for all vendors.
- Bills tenants for Utility and Rent Monthly.
- Supports internal and external audits by gathering requested documentation.
- Assists other departments in general ledger-related issues.
- Assists in other accounting duties on an as needed basis.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- Computer Skills including Word, Excel and other computer applications
- Excellent Communication Skills - Verbal and Written
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to meet deadlines and work with limited supervision
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
